Schoeller Group

Schoeller is a textile company with headquarters in Switzerland and international operations. The company specializes in the development and manufacturing of innovative fabrics and smart textile technologies. Schoeller textiles are leading in a number of niche markets worldwide. The roots of Schoeller Textil AG go back to the year 1867. The area "Fabrics" encompasses the premium range "Innovative Fabrics by Schoeller Switzerland": a highly-functional line for sports, work, lifestyle, fashion and office furnishings, developed and produced in the Swiss headquarters. The fabric collection which arose from the joint venture between Schoeller and Formosa Tafeta has been on sale since 2001 under the brand "SFTC" and is produced in Taiwan. The "schoeller®-works" sector established in 2009 encompasses function fabrics from Switzerland for uniforms, fashionable corporate wear and protective work wear. The area of "Technologies" is looked after by Schoeller Technologies AG, a subsidiary of Schoeller Textil AG founded in 2000. It retains the intellectual property rights (patents and trademarks) to the textile technologies developed by Schoeller. Together with selected production partners, Schoeller Technologies AG ensures their availability worldwide. License holders are also supported by Schoeller Technologies in the area of marketing and branding. With the establishment of Schoeller Medical AG in March 2011, Schoeller’s textile know-how now extends to the health area. The company’s first product is a modern and good-looking underwear system for the incontinence sector, sold primarily through the company’s own online shop. 2013 a second product is added: a medical decubitus fitted sheet with special textile structure, improving lying comfort through high moisture transport and low abrasion levels.   In September 2011, Schoeller purchases an external chemical laboratory in Gams (SG), in order to further expand its own research and development work. The laboratory is superbly equipped with very high-quality research and analysis apparatus for chemical synthesis and analysis as well as for microbiological testing and is also available to external companies as a platform for analysis and development projects. Two of the strongest and most innovative textile and technology companies in the “stretch woven and knits” segments are joining forces in June 2012: Schoeller Textil AG from Sevelen (St. Gallen) and the Eschler Group from Bühler (Appenzell Ausserrhoden). Under the banner of Swiss quality, global presence and wide ranging know-how, they are moving into the future together. At the Swiss headquarters, investment in recent years has concentrated mainly on finishing capacities, which are also used for commission finishing with Schoeller technologies. Joint venture partners in India, Taiwan and Turkey, also avail of these technologies for textile finishing.

Furthermore, Schoeller has a holding in Rotecno AG, Switzerland which specializes in medical textiles.
